What Does Ekklesia Mean?

Ekklesia is a Greek word meaning assembly. An Ekklesia is group of people gathered together into one place for reason of teaching and worship. Our pastor believes education is very important and that the emphasis of a church should be education. We believe a church should be a school where you learn the truths of God's teaching so that we ourselves can teach these same principles not only within the church but to our families and on our jobs and where ever else God pulls us into a situation to where we are to stand up for Him and pass His teachings along as we live humbly and quietly waiting on Him.

Who We Are

We are New Zion Baptist Church which is a local assembly uniquely dedicated to giving glory to the Lord Jesus Christ through committed obedience to His Word. We have made it our purpose to make disciples, baptize and properly teach all things in accordance to His Church, as the Lord has instructed His apostles to do before He ascended back to His rightful position in glory. Our personal goals are to learn to become active obedient servants in the Kingdom of God or as we say, become productive Kingdom representatives.

What We Believe

First and foremost, we acknowledge that the Lord Jesus our Savior wants everyone to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4. We believe that salvation is an act of grace, a gift of the Father that happens once and once forever, not by any works we could do. Ephesians 2:8-9; Isaiah 64:6 for any work we do is considered but filthy rags. Even the most remembered scripture if nothing is added to it, or if it's not cut short explains how easy salvation is obtained. John 3:16. Secondly there is baptism. We believe baptism is an outward showing of the dedication being declared of our commitment to the teaching of this local church and to the lifestyle God wants us to live. Thirdly to make disciples by living and actively practicing this committed life and letting God through His perfect will and knowledge send us to who He would send us and leading us where He would want us to go to show others how to obey God's commands.
